i had no idea it had been over a month since i’ve written. let me blame injuries and family visits and term papers and late nights at the grand house. let me blame the wide world out there for distracting me so epically. let me apologize with two delightful tunes that will distract you [and you will enjoy likely far more] from my lack of ramblings.

i know, i know, i know that my yoga asana practice is not supposed to be about ego or accomplishments, but sometimes a pose FINALLY clicks and you just think OH YEAH GIRL, i SO got this. you feel bright and light for about two seconds – and then you come crashing, careening down out of the pose – nearly killing your fellow yogis and taking out two water bottles in the process.

today, for the first time ever, i hit AND held forearm stand. i probably only got two decent breaths before the above scene ensued, but those two breathes were absolutely awesome.

tomorrow, three breaths …

if i ever mention to get to the movies again … this, the four-faced liar, is near, if not at, the top of my list. it reminds me of kissing jessica stein meets imagine me and you, and it’s getting pretty good reviews too (here, here, here).

The plot outline from the movie’s facebook fan page says, “A girl and a guy walk into a bar. They meet a girl and a guy. The guys talk about the girls. The girl falls for the girl. The guys don’t know…until they do. THE FOUR-FACED LIAR is a coming of age story about four friends and the chances they take on love.”

my dad tucked me in last night and my mom woke me up this morning. i spent the morning careening through yoga pose after yoga pose, running from old neighborhoods and splashing in knee deep water with my nearly two-year old cousin. i watched football and tennis with my siblings, drank beer with my dad and cooked three turkeys and an X amount of corn with my aunt. i cannonballed into the lake of the top of our pontoon boat and swam to the shore. i ate more baked brie than usual (note: that would be a LOT)and then topped it off with two servings of ice cream and brownies. i conked out on the couch and dreamt i was back in minnesota.

i am sunburnt and sunbleached. i am tired, but wide awake. i am sleeping in a yoga loft in the trees. i am thinking about how to top today.

i don’t know that i can, but anything is possible at half moon circle.

i’ve been called a lot of things (some good, some bad), but this was a first:

“so, you’re a finish-other-people’s-sentences kind of person.”

once this was drawn to my attention, i was self-conscious of the critique and embarrassed by how often i do this, especially to people who’s language i can’t infer yet, who’s moods i can’t anticipates, who’s thoughts i shouldn’t/couldn’t try to guess.

i did a long run this morning for the first time in a long time. when i returned, i brewed some coffee, and as was adding creamer to my ice connoction, i saw the use-by date — oct 5 2008. the same day as the twin cities marathon.

there were flurries during my run this morning and it was about 20 degrees. despite the obvious discomfort, i made the decision amidst it all to sign up for the twin cities marathon.

i’m marking my calendar for oct. 5th and reminding the world that i’m crazy.

it seems only fitting. when i moved to miami, i signed up for the miami 26.2 — and i AM crazy. so, it’s not like there is really any breaking news here.
